Steak Pieces by The Meatlovers consists of lean steak tips cut from only the best steaks. The Steak Pieces come from American cattle living on wide open plains. These animals are fed on grain for at least 120 days to create that unique taste sensation.

Steak and ale pie

2 persons


  • 2 Pieces of steak
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Cloves garlic
  • 75g Flour
  • 200 ml dark beer (eg. Guinness)
  • 250 ml Beef stock
  • 2 Sheets of puff pastry
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
Defrost the puff pastry. Cut the onions into rings and slice the garlic coarsely.

Heat the olive oil in a pan.Fry the steak pieces in it. Remove the pan from the heat and set aside.

Pour a little more oil in the pan and fry the onions with the garlic until the onions start to brown.

Add the flour and stir well for a minute. Add the beer and the beef stock and bring to the boil. Allow to boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C. Add the steak pieces to the mixture and put into two oven-proof dishes. Cover off tightly with the puff pastry.

Beat the egg, brush the pastry with the egg and bake in the oven for 20 minutes until the pastry looks nice and brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
