US Steak is a lean steak cut from the topside with little fat. The steak comes from American cattle that live freely on vast plains. Don't underestimate the steak, because US Steak is packed with flavour. The meat comes from US cattle that live on wide open plains. They are fed grains for at least 120 days, which creates the marbling in the meat and the delicious taste.

US steak is a versatile piece of meat that goes well with almost any sauce. So you can take US Steak in several different directions. Go for a fresh and tasty steak by combining a US Steak in a salad with chilli, tomatoes, bean sprouts and cashew nuts. The steak is also delicious with pomegranate molasses and various spices.

US Steak with pomegranate

4 persons


  • 2 US Steaks
  • 2 Canned anchovy fillets with oil
  • 3 Cloves garlic
  • 1 Shallot
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • Pomegranate Molasses
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Red wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Red wine
  • 1 Pomegranate
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Chop the shallot finely. Remove all the 'seeds' from the pomegranate. Season the meat with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Cut the garlic with the anchovy fillet until it forms a fine paste. Mix the honey with the shallot, pomegranate molasses, balsamic cream, red wine vinegar, red wine, olive oil and a pinch of salt.

Rub the US Steaks with this mixture and let it marinate for a day, preferably covered. Remove as much marinade as possible from the steaks with your hands and keep it. Set aside.

Cook the burgers according to the instructions on the package. Let it rest for another 5-10 minutes before serving.

Put another pan on the heat and add the marinade to it. Add the meat juices from the grilling pan. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and let it reduce until it becomes thicker.

Turn off the heat and add the pomegranate seeds. Season with salt and pepper.
